Good Morning Mets Fans!

5 in a row, with good signs all over the place.

Niese was nice, and yes, he deserves another start.

The man came up after struggling in the minors and held a major league club to 2 runs in 6 innings, with no walks and 5 Ks.

He made a statement to the Mets brass, and Met Nation noticed.

"I thought he kept the ball in play, nice little curveball he showed, so it didn't seem like it bothered him or anxiety was a problem, anything like that," manager Jerry Manuel said. "I thought he did well."

Carlos Delgado had a huge night: 5 RBIs and a big 3-run homerun to bust the game wide open in the 8th inning.

Delgado's fourth homer gave him 1,512 RBI, snapping a tie with Mantle for 48th place on the career list.

"It is pretty flattering," said a wide-eyed Delgado, who didn't know he had passed the former Yankees star until after the game, "so you've just got to hopefully continue and keep adding to the list."

Delgado is making a strong case for the Hall of Fame. With two more years of decent production he will be top 20 all-time in homeruns and RBIs. That's going to be tough to ignore, all-star game appearances are not.

Want more good news? Struggling leadoff man Jose Reyes had two hits and a walk and scored twice.

As Reyes go, so go the Mets, and his bat has looked much more on plane the last two nights.

"It's a team effort," Delgado said. "We get guys on, we put together good at-bats, put pressure on the opposition and good things happen."

So yes my friends, the Mets are rolling, and rolling, and rolling.

John Maine is on the hill at 1:00 p.m. to keep the momentum going for the team...they are two games over .500 and just a half game out of first.

Enjoy your coffee!
