Looking through the stats on Tim Wakefield this morning and found a shocker.
Luis Castillo is 9 for 20, with a .476 OBP, against the knuckleballer.
Carlos Beltran has also had great success. He's 7 for 23 with a HR.
Sheff has taken Wakefield deep twice, but both of those were in 2005. Last year Sheffield was oh for 6 against him.
Ramon Martinez has faced him 4 times, with 2 hits, and Fernando Tatis is 2 for 2.
Could be a very good day for the Mets offense.
Here are the complete stats of active Mets vs Tim Wakefield.
On the flip side, the current Red Sox lineup has absolutely mashed Tim Redding.
JD Drew is 4 for 10 with 2 homeruns.
Jason Bay is 4 for 13.
All told the current Red Sox hit .340 against Redding.
Here are the complete stats of active Red Sox vs Tim Redding.
