How big of a turnaround has Carlos Delgado made in 2008?

Steve Popper of the record does a great job here discussing Delgado's revival.
Sure, his numbers against lefty's are still nothing to write home about, and he does only have 16 RBIs at Shea all year.
That said, he is smoking in July and finished June with a bang. He is absolutely a presence in the lineup at a time when the Mets needed him to be just that.
I hope he hears nothing but thunderous applause as the Mets return home on a mission.
He's earned it.
