VIDEO: Ike Davis Catch Part Three

Ike Davis keeps making catch after amazing catch by disregarding his own personal safety for the sake of the team.

He was on his own for the first one and ran off after the grab.  Alex Cora caught him after the second one.  Then last night, a slew of teammates and coaches grabbed him...unfortunately they also got a handful of Ike's package...cup check!

After grabbing Ike to break his fall, the Mets trainer said, "boy, he sure is a handful!"

Ike's catch can be seen at the end of this video...amazing!

The Zen of Bobby V.

When I first heard of this documentary last year I was very intrigued. Bobby Valentine, for want of a better phrase, is a fascinating man.

Ballroom dance champion, star schoolboy athlete, fallen star due to injury, controversial manager, restauranteur, and icon in Japan.
--to many a Mets fan, Bobby is an icon too.

There is a very interesting article about the documentary here in New York Magazine.

I plan on seeing this film soon and will post a full review. I'm sure it will evoke fond and not so fond memories of Bobby during his tenure with the Mets.

You can watch an exclusive clip of Bobby V in Japan here....his fluency in Japanese is terrific (as is his accent).

The official Tribeca profile of The Zen of Bobby V includes further information as well as upcoming showtimes.

Love him or hate him (and we love him), the man is a fascinating study in human nature.

Mets Lose Again

New York MetsImage via WikipediaChurch to the 2 hole, Mets win 5 in a row, the offense hums along, and we look like a pennant contender.

Willie moves Castillo back, does some Bobby Valintinesque day-to-day lineup shuffling, and the Mets handbasket takes a trip south to hell.

I hope Alou provides a shot in the arm, Schneider comes back, and Willie has an epiphany on Church in the 2 hole permanently.

Well, at least we have Keith's mustache to mull over.

Deep, Cleansing Breaths

Yeah, it was kind of a brutal one, but hey, the Mets hung in there against another tough starter.

Get a good night's sleep and a win tomorrow.

And remember, breathe!
